Really Real

Release date: Jul 10, 2026

Genre: Folk Pop

Label:Black Wonder, LLC.

Allison Russell finally released her third studio album, In the Hour of Chaos, on July 10. Out of an album packed with brilliant collaborations, “Really Real” featuring Norah Jones immediately stood out to me.

Allison Russell and Norah Jones bring two completely different shades of jazzy vocals. Russell’s voice is rich, warm and deeply textured, while Jones is delicate, soft and almost weightless. When they come together, their voices blend so beautifully, especially around the line that doubled during the Chorus, “Who’s gonna be the shelter of your storm?”

The whole song is just incredibly pleasant. It makes me picture a warm breeze, tapping my feet and singing along with the harmonies after only one listen. Now I’m suddenly looking forward to the middle of summer.
