At barely two minutes, “Joven y Salvaje” does not waste any time. benny blanco and Cashmere Cat build the song around a simple, looping melody and a sleek house beat, while Bb trickz fills the open space with her dry delivery and instantly repeatable phrases.

The song is basically a quick snapshot of being young, reckless and awake far too late on a Tuesday. Bb trickz jumps between smoking, partying, ignoring phone calls and doing whatever she wants, never slowing down long enough to explain herself. The repeated “joven y salvaje” hook is almost ridiculously simple, but that is exactly why it stays in your head.

“Joven y Salvaje” will appear on benny blanco’s upcoming album Hermoso, out August 14.
