SWIM!!!
Release date: Jun 24, 2026
Genre: Pop/Rock
Label: Briggs Hill Music, LLC
Bailen is a trio comprised of siblings Julia, David and Daniel Bailen, based in New York. First performing together as Bailen in 2013, they specialize in indie folk, pop and rock. Some past influences they have named are Carole King, Joni Mitchell, and Simon and Garfunkel, and their music carries some sonic similarities with Fleetwood Mac.
This track is a defiant and uplifting break up song. The lyrics of the chorus carry a very clear message of declaring independence:
“So burn that bridge, say fuck it, I know how to swim, yeah I’m lucky I know how to live without you, I’ve done it before.”
This song delves more into rock pop, with its raging synth and guitar, and is much more high energy than their previous tracks. Bailen are known for exploring heartbreak and grief in sensitive and introspective ways. While songs off their old albums like Rose Leaves and These Bones are slow-tempo ballads with lush harmonic vocals over sparse folk instrumentation, this new track plays more like 90s rock and alternative, carrying a new energy they haven’t explored yet.
They are going on the Swim!!! At Your Own Risk tour later this year with locations across the US.
