HOME’s Sunny Little Glitch

One of my favorite Japanese band.

On Jun. 24, Japanese band HOME released their new single “Deja Vu Slider,” their first new track of 2026.

The song has a sunny surface with a small shadow behind it. The melody feels clean and elegant, with a little Prefab Sprout influence in the way the chords move, but HOME keeps it light and modern. It sounds polished without feeling too perfect.

Written by guitarist shunta higa, “Deja Vu Slider” shows the band stepping into a sharper pop direction. O-png’s synths give the track a glossy, floating texture, while seigetsu’s vocal stays clear and relaxed through the whole thing. There is something very easy to listen to here, but also a little strange, like the song is smiling while thinking about something else.

HOME also worked with Korean indie producer JNKYRD on this track, their first time bringing in an outside producer. The arrangement feels more open because of it, with more movement around the vocal and synths. It still has HOME’s dreamy charm, just with a little more shape.

“Deja Vu Slider” is a clean, stylish return from HOME, and one of those songs that sounds simple until you realize the hook has quietly stayed with you.
