On May 1, yeemz released her single Steady, a bright, upbeat track that feels like the weather finally decided to be nice again. It is catchy, simple, and very easy to like on first listen.

There is a little hint of summer in the way the song moves. Nothing is trying too hard. It has that sweet, sunny pop feeling that makes me think of 2015 indie-pop, Lenka, and those songs that used to play in lifestyle vlogs before everyone started calling everything “aesthetic.” Steady does not need a huge concept to work. It is just fun, light, and clean in the best way.

Sometimes a song really can just be cute, catchy, and make your day feel slightly less annoying. This track definitely does that.
