Chew

Genre: Electro Indie Pop

Release date: Sep 9, 2026

Label: Independent

octodaddio’s newest single “Chew” is released on September 9, 2026. She described the song as “too intimate to share,” which makes the release feel almost a little shy. But “chew” also feels like another step forward in her evolution. Even with something this personal, she still invites everyone in to savor it.

The song starts with floating synths and scattered vocal chops, creating a weightless atmosphere. The pre-chorus keeps the arrangement minimal, with the drums maintaining a steady, house-feeling pulse underneath. I especially love octodaddio’s vocal delivery every time. Her breath phrasing is controlled, with just enough space between lines to keep the vocal intimate.

During the chorus, the synth takes on an almost video-game-like quality, which is especially interesting given octodaddio’s background in video game music, though the connection may simply be a stylistic coincidence. A small, repetitive synth riff gradually builds the energy.

“I will chew, if it’s you / It’s gonna be you.”

The whole song feels lush and richly melodic. Even with all the detailed electronic texture, many vocal chops and samples, it never feels overcrowded. Everything stays clear and incredibly catchy. It’s the kind of hook that gets stuck in your head after one listen.
