JUST LIKE ME
Release date: Aug 14, 2026
Genre: Alt Ballad / Dark Pop
Label: Independent
On Aug. 14, 2026, Guiize released “JUST LIKE ME,” and one of the smartest choices here is how little the song treats his voice like the obvious centerpiece. Guiize is clearly a great vocalist, but instead of putting that voice completely in front, the dramatic production almost swallows it. His vocal stretches into the arrangement until it starts functioning like another synth: sustained, processed, atmospheric, sometimes more concerned with texture than showing off what he can technically do. It is a compliment. With a song this heavy, a huge clean vocal performance could have made everything too polished. Here, the production gives his voice somewhere darker to sit, and it keeps getting grander til it explodes.
That choice also works with the writing, because “JUST LIKE ME” keeps returning to the idea that two people who have hurt each other may be much less different than they want to believe.
I’m flesh and bones, just like you
When I throw the stones they hurt me too
These lines immediately take away any easy villain in the song. Later, anger turns into exhaustion: phones get hung up, what they built becomes “debris,” and eventually he has to let go of something that is clearly already gone. The mirror image at the center of the chorus is almost uncomfortable because the song doesn’t end with Guiize proving himself right. He looks at the other person and recognizes himself there too. That makes all of the enormous production around him even more effective: underneath all that drama, the actual admission is painfully human.
