Brand new chanel$

Release date: July 31, 2026

Genre: Electropop

Label: RECORDS Label

Slayyyter released “brand new chanel$” on July 31, 2026. The song acts as a direct inversion of “BEAT UP CHANEL$,” arriving almost exactly one year after the earlier single. It is closely connected to a real breakup. Slayyyter revealed that, two days before WOR$T GIRL IN AMERICA was released, she discovered that her boyfriend had cheated on her while she was in Los Angeles rehearsing for Coachella.

She also directed the music video herself, returning to the same house featured in the “BEAT UP CHANEL$” video. The new visual revisits several scenes, including the firework sequence, making it feel like a continuation of the same story from a more painful perspective.

Musically, the opening feels like an early-2010s progressive house-leaning electropop pre-chorus. Simple chords build a bright and energetic atmosphere, while the dreamy vocals and small vocal chops in the background bring back the feeling of EDM’s golden era. The song stays highly danceable, driven by a steady kick, sharp hi-hats, and layers of vocals. When the chorus arrives, the large rock drums and soaring vocal lines turn the heartbreak into an arena-sized moment.

The lyrics tell a full story of betrayal. Slayyyter returns to the moment through images of the apartment, hidden photographs, unanswered calls, and another woman staying in her home. You can hear the pain in the way she sings. She puts all her energy into lines like “I see how you move,” almost shouting the words out. Ironically, the backing track sounds bright and uplifting when you ignore the lyrics. At the same time, the layered vocals make some of the words feel slightly blurred, as if the memories are still difficult for her to process clearly.

I read the fireworks at the end as a sign that she is finally moving away from the trauma and the unhealthy relationship. When she sings “doesn’t matter anyway,” it sounds less like she truly feels nothing and more like she is trying to let go of something that has already hurt her enough.
