you want it

Release date: July 31, 2026

Genre: Alt R&B

Label: Mod Records

Okay, listen to the bass when it comes in on “you want it.” Listen to the production of the track. The song starts off pretty open, then around ten seconds in, this really deep 808 drops and suddenly everything has weight. The bass is slow and heavy, while the hi-hats and little clicks around it keep moving, so the whole track has this really nice push and pull.

What I like is that nick fomby does not just leave the beat running the same way for three minutes. The low end keeps disappearing and coming back, and every time it returns, it lands differently. Aileena’s lighter vocal also gives the middle of the song a softer texture, especially when the production strips back and gives her more space.

My favorite part is near the end, when almost everything cuts out before the beat drops back in again. “you want it” sits somewhere between alternative R&B, experimental pop and hip-hop, and honestly, the groove is the reason to stay.

The entire album dummy* is out too, can’t wait to dive deeper to the entire project.
