浅水艇ShallowSubmarine officially arrives with their debut single, Line 16. Composed by WenBo Shu and produced by Junfeng Yang, the song takes its name from Shanghai Metro Line 16, a long ride from Lingang Avenue to Longyang Road, nearly 60 kilometers of rushing after class, catching the express train, staring out the window, listening to music, and watching the sunset turn into fire clouds.

Line 16 is a soft Chinese indie pop / alt-pop track that doesn’t try too hard to be emotional, which is exactly why it works. It feels like a quiet train-window scene left uncut, carrying the things we once treasured and the memories we maybe did not want to revisit. As the songwriter says themself, everyone has their own Line 16, not always a destination, but a stretch of time that music somehow helps us remember.
